I’m so ready for spring, you guys! Are you? I’m at that point where I’m basically trying to FORCE spring into my life, even if it hasn’t happened on it’s own yet. I’m dreaming of the warm sun, fun vacations, the beach, beautiful spring dresses, flowers, and warm weather! And since that hasn’t technically happened yet, I’ve put all of those things into this Tropical Breakfast Smoothie!
The good news is that spring truly is just around the corner. But I’m not waiting until spring gets here to have spring in my life! <—- That’s epic. It should be a life quote or something!
I initially made this smoothie because Cody and I were dreaming about an upcoming tropical vacation, and I suddenly had the urge to find every tropical fruit in all of the land and put it in this smoothie. I ended up buying so much of it that we’ve been having breakfast bowls every morning that are OVERFLOWING with tropical fruit (see the evidence on Instagram)! If you make the same mistake that I made (can I even call that a mistake? BEST MISTAKE EVER!), repurpose the extra fruit in breakfast bowls using my Homemade Granola or in these Fruit & Nut Breakfast Tarts!
Now, I must admit that having a great blender can make all the difference in making smoothies. I started out in life with this little blender (actually, it wasn’t so little) and loved it! But working full time and trying to wash that giant thing every morning started to affect my smoothie game, so I borrowed this one from my mom because it came with little cups I could take to-go! And hey, for only $19.99? That’s a steal! We had some great times together
Then when Cody and I got married, we were given the blender/food processor we currently have as a wedding gift, the Ninja System! You’ve probably heard me talk a lot about it in my posts because I LOVE it and can honestly say it is my MOST USED kitchen tool. It comes with a large blender, a food processor, a dough maker, 2 to-go cups, and gets the job done so fast! I use it in almost every recipe (even the ones you wouldn’t expect it in, like the Healthy Cauliflower Mushroom Pizza recipe!). This blender will take your smoothie game to next level, people!
And it sure did when it comes to this Tropical Breakfast Smoothie! One sip, and you’re on the beach drinking a fruity drink and getting a nice sun glow. Grab some tropical fruit, your blender, put on a sun dress, and make this smoothie!
- ½ cup frozen pineapple
- ½ cup frozen mango
- ¼ cup coconut milk
- 1 banana
- ¾ cup frozen mixed berries
- 1 kiwi
- In a blender, combine all of the ingredients.
- If you want separate colors as shown in the above photos, simply combine the first 3 ingredients and pour into a glass, then combine the last 3 ingredients and pour on top of the first smoothie.
- Serve and enjoy!
