Monday’s, y’all. Need I say more? It doesn’t seem to matter what your occupation is. Most of us can agree that Monday’s tend to hit us in the face a little bit (a lot a bit)! Thankfully, this Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl is here to brighten up your Monday!
I LOVE smoothie bowls (Matcha Smoothie Bowl, anyone?). Mainly because I love really bright and colorful things, and smoothie bowls are like the epitome of bright and colorful! But since I own a health blog and all let’s say that I love them because of the nutrition. <—— No, but for real! I actually really do love them for the nutrition, I promise! In addition to the beauty they offer my sleepy eyes in the morn.

I also love topping smoothie bowls with like a MILLION things! Cody’s always like….Wow….and I’m like…YOU’RE WELCOME. For 2 reasons: 1.) Because of the fact that it’s visually appealing. When you live in a world of constant food photos, a dreamy, colorful bowl like this is GOLD! 2.) Because adding a ton of nutrient packed ingredients in small amounts versus adding a large amount of one ingredient offers way more nutrition to our bodies! More on this later. For now, let’s get started on this amazing Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl!
Since dragon fruit is all like $$$$$$$$$$, I purchase it frozen. It’s not exactly a local fruit in Texas, so you do whatcha gotta do! And personally, I’ll take my frozen dragon fruit where I can get it. I have no problem with frozen fruit! I’m sure we’re on the same page about that, because you’re busy like I am and don’t have the time or mulla (<—haven’t used THAT word in ages) to go on an adventurous dragon fruit hunt. As far as the toppings go: sliced almonds, coconut shavings, mulberries, goji berries, and homemade granola are my go-to’s for smoothie/breakfast bowls (head over to the Shop page for more of my go-to’s)! In this case, I got all crazy and adventurous by adding star fruit, kiwi, blueberries, cotton candy grapes (have you tried these???? crazy!), coconut shavings, and granola. I know! Living wild over here!
Here’s the delicious and easy recipe for the Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl:
- 2 cups frozen dragon fruit cubes
- ⅓ cup plain greek yogurt (option: coconut yogurt for my vegan friends)
- 1 banana
- In a blender, liquefy the ingredients.
- Serve into two bowls (or freeze half for later).
- Add toppings of choice and enjoy!
